Description:

Paul Fleming was born in Bozeman, Montana, and grew up in a small town near Reno, Nevada. Since starting on the trombone at age 8, Paul has studied with Andrew Williams, Leonard Neidhold, and Dr. A G. McGrannahan III, all of the Reno Philharmonic. Paul received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2007. He is now pursuing a Master of Trombone Performance degree from the Boston Conservatory, studying with Norman Bolter.
Paul has performed with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, the Reno Chamber Orchestra, and held a Principal Trombone position in the Ruby Mountain Symphony in Elko, Nevada from 2004-2007. Paul has performed as a featured soloist with the Ruby Mountain Symphony and the Hickman Brass Ensemble, in Reno Nevada. He received the prize of Runner-up in the 2005 Reno Chamber Orchestra’s Concerto Competition. Paul was also a founding member of the Artemisia Brass Quintet, a group whose main purpose was to diffuse knowledge and love of music to local public schools.
Aside from playing, Paul has also been a substitute music teacher in the Reno public school system, and has taught music privately since 2001. Paul’s non-musical interests include jogging, biking, and ultimate frisbee.


Paul has experience teaching Trombone, Tuba, Euphonium, and Trumpet, from beginner to advanced levels.
