Adam believes a vital change is necessary from the usual half hour “assembly line’ approach that most private music schools typically adhere to: 30-minute lessons back to back. More often than not, by the time a student unpacks their guitar, tunes-up (there’s also packing-up as well), a 30-minute lesson turns into a 25 or 20 minute lesson!
What is necessary for musical growth is attention that is more individual (This is especially true with cutbacks to our schools): each lesson is 45-minutes, scheduled 15 minutes apart so that every one gets a full, 45-minute lesson.
