David Spies received his B.M.-Honors with Distinction in performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, his M.M. and Artist Diploma from the Yale School of Music, and his D.M.A. in performance and Wind Instrumental Conducting from the University of North Texas. Presently teaching for Marian College of Fond du Lac, he has previously taught performance at the University of Iowa, Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Northwestern State University of Louisiana. With over 20 years of performance and teaching experience, Dr. Spies currently performs with the Racine Symphony Orchestra, the Madison Jazz Orchestra, and is Solo E-flat Tubist and Assistant Director of the Madison Brass Band. His teachers include John Stevens, Toby Hanks, Don Little and Everett Gilmore.
